Tasks Tasks Tasks
Today we are going to finish our first group-work with the task 3.1 and the paper we had to write. The cool thing about working with google docs is that we were able to work on the paper simultaneously. And we even used the chat function at Google to talk about the contents of the paper and we gave opposite feedback. We had some challenge with the Referencing because it is the first time we all had to work on the standarts of the Harvard System of Referencing but I hope we made it. During the last week I completely forgot to read Comer chapter 8 that was the task without task for last week. So I will do that today and I will watch the screen lecture.

hi yasmin,
ReplyDeleteI hope the experience with google docs was a good one, so that you consider this tool as a gain for your future studies (and other fields).
concerning the harvard system and citation: this is really very important in scientific work. I know, working by these rules can be a pain in the ass, and certainly not all the rules stated there are really convincing and necessary. but most of them really are, and the rest is a good training in conformity, and that is partly needed in science and many other fields of life. I can imagine that simply the word "conformity" raises every hair on your body, since social workers - from my experience - tend to be very critical and do not like to accept systems or things they did not analyse thoroughly, but it can't be helped in certain areas: sometimes you need standardisation, and then guidelines as the harvard system are very helpful.
you can also read my guidelines from my website, they are also harvard-based, and perhaps some passages are easier to understand in German.
so, have a nice week, and good work on your tasks! bye, alex
